The Authority may, on receiving an application for a gambling licence or for renewal under this Part, request in writing such information from any person it considers has information relevant to verification or such further information from the proposed licensee or licensee as necessary to verify (a) information contained in the application and the relevant documentation, and (b) that the proposed licensee or licensee and, if applicable, each relevant officer and beneficial owner, is a fit and proper person. Persons expressly include the Revenue Commissioners, the Garda Síochána and a person outside the State with whom the Authority has an arrangement under section 106.

A proposed licensee or licensee must comply with a request within the period specified or within any agreed extension; failure to comply permits the Authority to treat the application as withdrawn. A person in the State (other than the applicant) receiving a request must, on receipt of a copy of the relevant consents, provide information in their possession within the specified or agreed period. Where certain subparagraphs of section 96(1)(j) or paragraphs (g) or (h) of section 104(1) apply to applications under sections 118, 119 or 121, the Authority may request further information to enable determinations under sections 120 or 121.
