After transmission of the draft legislative act to the national parliaments,

Having regard to the opinion of the European Economic and Social Committee [OJ C 105, 4.3.2022, p. 81.],

Having regard to the opinion of the Committee of the Regions [OJ C 61, 4.2.2022, p. 42.],

Acting in accordance with the ordinary legislative procedure [Position of the European Parliament of 29 February 2024 (not yet published in the Official Journal) and decision of the Council of 26 March 2024.],

Whereas:

(1) The Commission Communication of 19 February 2020 entitled 'Shaping Europe's Digital Future' announces a revision of Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council [Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market and repealing Directive 1999/93/EC (OJ L 257, 28.8.2014, p. 73).] to improve its effectiveness, extend its benefits to the private sector and promote trusted digital identities for all Europeans.
