20. Functions that may be performed by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
Section 61 of the Civil Registration Act 2004 is amended by inserting the following after subsection (5):
(a) The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, in addition to an tArd-Chláraitheoir, a Superintendent Registrar, a registrar or an authorised officer, may perform functions referred to in subsection (1) (a).
(b) For the purposes of this subsection, section 67 shall be read as if, in subsection (1) of that section, there is a reference to the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, in so far as that Minister is performing functions under section 61(1) (a), and subject to any other necessary modifications.".
