40CA. Requests by FIU Ireland to Article 3(2) authorities

(1) An Article 3(2) authority shall reply, in a timely manner, to reasoned and necessary requests by a member of the Garda Síochána who is appointed to FIU Ireland, made on a case-by-case basis, for law enforcement information, where the information is necessary for the prevention, detection and combating of money laundering, associate predicate offences and terrorist financing.

(2) In this section -

'law enforcement information' has the same meaning as it has in Directive (EU) 2019/1153;

'terrorist financing' has the same meaning as it has in Directive (EU) 2019/1153.
