AI Summary of Article 122 Exposures to corporates

The assignment of risk weights for exposures is contingent upon the availability of credit assessments from nominated External Credit Assessment Institutions (ECAIs). According to Article 136, exposures with a credit rating available will align with specific risk weights as detailed in Table 1. Credit quality steps range from 20% for the highest quality to 150% for lower ratings.

In instances where no credit assessment is available, a standard risk weight of 100% applies. This framework underscores the importance of adequate credit evaluations in managing risk exposure, thereby facilitating regulatory compliance and informed risk management strategies.
